Independent Producer

Since 2008, George has produced or executive produced several award-winning narrative and documentary films and was a credited producer of the Harry Potter-inspired Off-Broadway hit comedy, PUFFS.

George serves on the Board of the Hellenic Film Society USA, a non-for-profit organization that promotes Greek filmmakers and those of Greek descent, as well as films that promote the cultures of Greece and Cyprus.

His Greek golf comedy SWING AWAY was shot on the island of Rhodes, Greece and stars Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie, Scary Movie, Love Actually) and newcomer Viktoria Miller among other notable Greek and American actors including John O'Hurley of Seinfeld fame and British comedic actor Karl Theobald (Get Him to the Greek, Plebs). As a female-driven film it was selected to premiere at the 2016 Bentonville Film Festival in Bentonville, Arkansas founded by Geena Davis, which organization champions women and underrepresented voices.

George's creative pursuits center on inspirational and meaning-focused films and video across sports, comedy, travel, community, race relations, civil rights and faith-based topics.

Projects

George Stephanopoulos represents Yannis Pantazis, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, instrument artisan and co-founder/co-owner of "Symposion Cultural Center" in Santorini, Greece, whose music CALLISTA on Double Syrinx was used in a key scene in Gladiator II between Lucilla and Marcus Acacius.

The All Rise Film Festival hosted by Cleveland State University School of Film and Media Arts in partnership with CSU College of Law will run October 14-18, featuring panel discussions with guest speakers including George Stephanopoulos.

George Stephanopoulos is an Executive Producer of Watershed, now streaming on Peacock®. The film was also released in select AMC® theaters nationwide and on Delta Airlines®.

Experience

Prior to founding Stephanopoulos Law, George served as Vice President & Associate General Counsel for Vox Media Studios and as Special Counsel and Senior Advisor to Group Nine Media, the digital media holding company behind NowThis, The Dodo, Thrillist, Seeker and POPSUGAR, that Vox Media acquired in February 2022.

Before Vox Media and Group Nine, George held various business and legal affairs and executive management positions at Nickelodeon (now Paramount Global), Classic Media (now part of DreamWorks Animation), Discovery Communications (now Warner Bros. Discovery), Golden Books Family Entertainment, and Broadway Video, an independent production and distribution company founded by Lorne Michaels, the creator and executive producer of “Saturday Night Live”.

George organized the 2014 inaugural “The Bronx in Hollywood Films” YES the Bronx Film Festival, an official Bronx Centennial Arts Event hosted at the Lehman College Lovinger Theater.

George is known and recognized for optimizing business affairs functions and profitability across multiple client groups and business units and as an entrepreneurial, strategic, and creative thinker on content creation and IP issues around video, mobile, and social convergence.
